Superintendent Rewards Accelerated Readers

Elementary Top Accelerated Readers took a reward trip with West Elk’s Superintendent, Mr. Martin Burke on March 4^th. Students were treated to Poplar Pizza for lunch, stopped at Batson’s Drug Store & Family Market for ice cream and ended their trip at Howard City Park. 

Kindergarten to second grade students qualified for the trip by surpassing 150 Accelerated Reader points, while third through sixth graders had the goal of more than 250 points. The Accelerated Reader Program works to progress and encourage students to read by allowing them to enjoy preferential books within their reading level and gain points to earn rewards.
