FBLA Students Visit Textron Aviation

March 20, 2018 – West Elk High School visits Textron Aviation in Independence for a facility tour as part of West Elk FBLA’s commitment to build partnerships with local industry.  Students took video of company employees as part of Textron Aviation’s Self-led company initiative on their newly renovated Caravan Aircraft manufacturing line.  Business students edited and returned the video to Textron to be used as part of their internal training process for this initiative.

West Elk FBLA is proud to partner with Textron Aviation and is committed to see the relationship grow in the future.  Developing partnerships with local industry fulfills a Smart Goal within the partnership component of our CTE pathways for Web and Digital Communications.  A Win-Win for both our FBLA chapter and our CTE curriculum!

Textron Aviation, heatdqartered in Wichita, is home to aviation’s most iconic family: Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker.  As aviation’s first manufactured airplanes filled the skies above Kansas in the early 1900s, Wichita appropriately became known as the “Air Capital of the World”.  Today, Textron Aviation keeps that tradition alive, employing over 15,000 Kansans making the combined Textron companies the largest employer in the state of Kansas.
